He served as the director of the High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL) under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence from 1990 until 2004. His contributions to the field made a significant impact on India's defense research initiatives. Dr. Singh passed away on November 4, 2017.
