Post-World War II, he led design at BRM, contributing to the BRM V16 engine. He transitioned into journalism as Technical Editor at The Autocar while also designing engines for Lotus. In 1963, he returned to engineering, creating the Jaguar V12 engine, and remained with Jaguar until his retirement in 1980, later working as a consultant.
