Kanki was known as 'the greatest publishing producer in post-war Japan,' revolutionizing the book production process by promoting collaboration between authors and publishers. He played a key role in the launch of bestselling books and series such as Kappa Novels and Kappa Business. He established Kanki Publishing in 1977, shortly before his death on January 24, 1977.
