Hélcio Pereira Fortes was a Brazilian political activist and member of the Ação Libertadora Nacional (ALN). Born in Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, on January 24, 1948, he engaged in cultural activities in his city, writing for newspapers, promoting recitals, and creating theatrical works. A frequent contributor to the Jornal de Outro Preto and the Voz do GLTA, he became a significant figure in the Brazilian leftist movement. Fortes was investigated by the Comissão da Verdade for his role during Brazil's military dictatorship, living in hiding due to political persecution before his death on January 31, 1972.
