Helmut Seling (1921-2016) was a German art historian and art dealer known for his expertise in Augsburg goldsmith art. He studied art history at the University of Freiburg and opened his own art shop in Munich in 1964. Seling played a pivotal role in preserving the Augsburg silver collection of Bishop Friedrich Wilhelm von Westphalen. He contributed his extensive research archive to the Bavarian National Museum and taught at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität. His publications include significant works on Augsburg goldsmiths and related art history.
