Herb Baumeister was an American businessman suspected of serial murder, born on April 7, 1947, in Indianapolis. He led a seemingly normal life, running a thrift store and raising three children, while secretly harboring homosexual tendencies. In 1994, he came under investigation after several young men disappeared, who were last seen at gay venues frequented by him. Evidence linked him to seven murders, which were uncovered by police after searching his property. Baumeister died by suicide on July 3, 1996, leaving behind a letter citing personal troubles but not confessing to the murders.
