Hovik Meliqsetyan (January 15, 1931 - January 30, 1997) was an Armenian historian born in Shnogh, Armenian SSR, USSR. He graduated from Yerevan State University in 1954 and worked at the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences from 1958 to 1963. He became a professor at Yerevan State University and served as the head of the Department of Modern and Contemporary History from 1988. Meliqsetyan focused on the relationships between the homeland and diaspora, repatriation, and Armenian involvement in World War II. He published several influential works during his career.
