Isha Fofana, born on December 28, 1965, in Bathurst (now Banjul), Gambia, is a Gambian artist. At 19, she joined the Gambia Black African Club and later lived in Germany from 2000 to 2008, where she showcased her work internationally. She founded the 'Mama Afrika' gallery in Cologne in 2006 and returned to Gambia in 2008 to establish the Mama Africa non-profit and gallery. Fofana became chair of the National Centre for Arts and Culture in 2010 and led the 'Girls in Art' project, participating in the African Women’s Entrepreneurs Program in 2011.
