Isshō Fujita is a Japanese Zen monk born on April 18, 1954, in Niihama, Ehime. He pursued studies in child psychology at Tokyo University but transitioned to monastic life, being ordained as a Zen priest in 1983. He served as the head teacher at Valley Zendo in Massachusetts from 1987 until 2005, after which he returned to Japan. Fujita became the Director of the Soto Zen International Center from 2010 to 2018, contributing significantly to Zen practice and education.
