Brigadier General Ing. Ivan Hirka, born on December 30, 1960, in Velké Meziříčí, Czechoslovakia, is a Slovak general who has served as the Chief of Staff for Strategic Planning at the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic since August 2014. He began his career in radio troops and has held significant commanding and staff positions within the Slovak Armed Forces, including the command of the 1st Mechanized Brigade. He was promoted to brigadier general by President Gašparovič in September 2009.
