Jack Startz was an American plastic surgeon born on January 17, 1931, in Los Angeles, and he passed away on May 9, 1985, in the same city. He was a pioneer in the use of liquid silicone fillers, injecting around 2,000 patients during the 1970s. Although he had notable clients, including entertainer Liberace, his practices caused significant complications, leading to over 100 lawsuits. Startz struggled with drug and alcohol addiction and ultimately took his own life. He left behind three children and was portrayed by Rob Lowe in the film adaptation of Scott Thorson's memoir.
