Born on February 15, 1906, he began performing as a teenager and participated in the 1939 New York World's Fair. During World War II, he served as the tallest soldier in the German Army. Following the war, he took on various roles, including that of a giant Santa Claus, and became a notable figure in American television and freak shows, recognized as the World's Tallest Man.
