Jan Broekhuis (1901–1974), also known as John Brookhouse McCarthy, was a Dutch composer who studied at the Amsterdam Conservatory. He excelled as a conductor and composer for various musical forms, including operettas and film scores. Known for his contributions to the Dutch entertainment scene, he wrote songs for revues and collaborated with notable artists. Broekhuis had success both in the Netherlands and abroad, including work in England and America. He settled in Switzerland, where he continued his career as a concert pianist until his death.
