Jan Černý is a Czech veterinarian and politician born on April 23, 1959, in Prague. In the 1990s, he served as a member of the Czech National Council and the Chamber of Deputies for the Civic Democratic Party (ODS), later for the Freedom Union. He was the Minister for Regional Development in the government of Josef Tošovský and from 2007 to 2011, he was the last chairman of the Freedom Union. Since 2020, he has been the mayor of Kostelec nad Černými lesy.
