Jan Willem de Korver was a member of the Dutch resistance during World War II. Born in Dordrecht on January 31, 1921, he studied mining engineering at the Technical University of Delft. After the German occupation, he joined a resistance group that sought to escape to England. His attempts to flee in 1941 and 1942 were thwarted by betrayal, resulting in the capture of most group members, while he and Jan de Brabander were the only survivors. Post-war, he worked for Shell, taking up various positions abroad.
