Jan Foudraine (later known as Amrito) was a Dutch psychiatrist, psychotherapist, mystic, and publicist, born on February 25, 1929, and passed away on February 27, 2016. He was recognized as a pioneer of antipsychiatry. Foudraine led the Psychotherapeutic Center Veluweland from 1968 and published the influential book 'Wie is van hout' in 1971, which re-evaluated schizophrenia from a social-psychiatric perspective. After achieving success with this book, he studied eastern wisdom teachings under Bhagwan Sri Rajneesh, adopting the name Amrito and further exploring psychological issues influenced by Jiddu Krishnamurti.
