Jean-Paul Blaizot is a French theoretical nuclear physicist born in 1949. He studied mathematics and physics at the École normale supérieure in Paris, graduating in 1969. He began researching at CNRS in 1975 and became a research director in 1994. He held various academic positions including a visiting professorship at the University of Illinois and a guest researcher role at Brookhaven National Laboratory. His research focuses on many-body nuclear problems, quark-gluon plasma, and quantum field theory. He has received several prestigious awards, including the Prix Jean Ricard.
