Jens Thomsen, born May 15, 1942, is a former director of Danmarks Nationalbank. He graduated as a cand.polit. from the University of Copenhagen in 1969. Thomsen held various significant positions, including secretary at Danmarks Statistik, financial attaché at Denmark's Permanent Representation to the EU, and department head in the Ministry of Finance. He was a member of the executive board of Danmarks Nationalbank from 1995 until he retired at the end of 2010. He has also served as an external lecturer at several educational institutions.
