James Brown Montgomery Jr. (1922–1992) was an American football player born in Breckenridge, Texas. He played college football for Texas A&M and served as a field artillery instructor during World War II. In 1946, he signed with the Detroit Lions and played 11 NFL games as a tackle. After his football career, he worked at Exxon for 35 years, eventually becoming West Texas marketing manager before retiring in 1982. He returned to Moran, Texas, where he lived until his death at his son's home in Dallas.
