João de Deus Barbosa de Jesus was a Brazilian businessman and politician known for founding the Workers' Nationalist Party in 1990 and later refounding it as the Brazilian Workers' Nationalist Party. He ran for federal deputy in 1990 and for president in the 1998 election, proposing various reforms including fighting unemployment and investments in public healthcare. His presidential candidacy was controversial, as it conflicted with his party's leadership decisions, and he ultimately received 0.29% of the votes. He also ran for city councillor in Rio de Janeiro in 2000, but did not get elected.
