He served as a federal deputy for Sergipe from 2003 to 2007. A graduate in law from the Federal University of Sergipe, he held various roles in the public sector and was involved in political parties such as the PT, PL, and PDT. He also presided over the local PPS chapter. In 2006, he ran for the governor of Sergipe, securing over 2% of the vote.
