She received classical training and evolved her style towards a more expressive language, focusing on portraits, landscapes, and daily life scenes. Casas was part of the Egyptian painter group El Marsam and exhibited her work internationally. She was married to Abbas Shohdy and had a son, Omar. She passed away in Cairo on July 24, 2019.
