John Cerminaro, born on April 7, 1947, in Grimes County, Texas, is an acclaimed American hornist. Over his extensive career, he has served as the principal hornist for several prestigious American orchestras including the New York Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, as well as the Aspen Festival Orchestra. Since 1995, he has held the principal horn position at the Seattle Symphony Orchestra. Cerminaro is also a dedicated educator, teaching horn at the Juilliard School and other institutions, and has recorded notable works, including Mozart's horn concertos.
