John Anthony Helliwell, born on February 15, 1945, is a British musician best known as the saxophonist and harmonica player for the British rock band Supertramp. He began his musical journey singing in a church choir at the age of six and later trained on the piano, clarinet, and saxophone. Helliwell performed in various bands during the 1960s before joining Supertramp in 1973, where he played saxophone and harmonica, occasionally contributing on keyboards between 1974 and 1988.
