John Lingwood is an English drummer and composer born on February 18, 1951, in Wembley, London. He joined the band Steamhammer in the early 1970s and worked as a session musician after attempting to form his own band. Notably, he played with Stomu Yamashita's East Wind and Leo Sayer. Lingwood is best known for his time with Manfred Mann's Earth Band from 1979 to 1987 and again from 2016, contributing to several albums. He also performed with Company Of Snakes between 1998 and 2002.
