Johnny Alf Larsen was a Norwegian figure born on January 31, 1923, in Svolvær, and executed on May 29, 1947, at Bremnes Fort. He was the only person from Northern Norway sentenced to death for war crimes during the post-World War II Norwegian trials. A member of the National Socialist party, Hirden, and the German SS, he claimed to have worked as an interpreter for the Gestapo. Charged with 45 counts of severe torture, he was originally sentenced to life imprisonment, but the Supreme Court later imposed the death penalty, leading to his execution.
