Johnny McElhone is a Scottish guitarist and songwriter born on April 21, 1963, in Glasgow. He has been a member of three notable bands that have appeared in the UK Singles Chart's top 20: new wave bands Altered Images and Hipsway, as well as the alternative/pop rock band Texas. Both Altered Images and Texas have also achieved top 20 albums on the UK Albums Chart. He is the son of Labour MPs Frank and Helen McElhone and has a son, child actor Jack McElhone.
