Jorge Ignacio Checa Eguiguren was a Peruvian politician born on February 1, 1912, in Piura, Peru. He was the youngest of fourteen children. He was elected as a deputy representing the province of Sullana in 1939. He played a significant role in establishing the Colegio Nacional Carlos Augusto Salaverry in 1945. Additionally, he served as president of the Alianza Lima club between 1936 and 1940. Later, he was appointed Prefect of Piura in the 1950s and attempted to become a senator in 1963. He passed away on October 10, 1994, in Lima.
