He turned professional in 1963 and achieved notable successes including winning the Argentine Open in 1982. He was a consistent performer, finishing as a runner-up in various tournaments, and won the Argentine PGA Championship twice in 1984 and 1989. Soto represented Argentina four times in the World Cup, with his best result being a 5th place finish in 1975 alongside Juan Carlos Cabrera. He passed away on October 26, 2011.
