José Luis Gimeno Ferrer is a Valencian architect and politician born on February 20, 1942, in Brihuega. He was a member of the Popular Alliance and later the Popular Party, serving as a city councilor in Castelló from 1987 and as mayor from June 1991 to 2005. Following his resignation, he was appointed by President Francisco Camps as managing director of Castelló Cultural. His political career was characterized by urban expansion and controversies regarding statements about Franco and the División Azul, including naming streets after notable Francoists.
