Joseph Awad (May 17, 1929 - July 17, 2009) was a poet, artist, and professional public relations executive. He served as the national president of the Public Relations Society of America in 1982 and was named the Poet Laureate of Virginia in 1998. Awad was inducted into the Virginia Communications Hall of Fame in 1992. His poetry included works with both Arab American and Irish American writers.
