Joshua Edelman is an American pianist, composer, producer, and educator born in New York on April 9, 1954. He founded Jazz Basque Country Productions and the Jazz Cultural Theatre of Bilbao. As a heir and continuator of the Jazz Cultural Theatre established by pianist Barry Harris in 1982, Edelman incorporates influences from classical music, bebop, and African heritage in American popular music into his works. Throughout his career, he has contributed to jazz education through teaching, courses, and seminars, while respecting and exploring the origins of jazz.
