Juan Pomés Marcet is a Catalan chess player born in Terrassa on January 29, 1957. He achieved the title of International Master in 1990. He has competed with the Chess Club Terrassa and the Chess Club Barcino. In 1993, he was the individual subchampion of Catalonia. He was also part of the team from Chess Club Terrassa that won the Spanish team championship in 1985, alongside notable players like Emili Simón and Víctor Vehí. He has participated in numerous international tournaments and represented Spain in the 1976 European Team Chess Championship.
