Julius H. Schoeps is a German historian and political scientist born on June 1, 1942, in Djursholm, Sweden. He is the founding director of the Moses Mendelssohn Center for European-Jewish Studies at the University of Potsdam and serves as the chairman of the Moses Mendelssohn Foundation. Schoeps was also the first director and co-founder of the Salomon Ludwig Steinheim Institute in Duisburg, contributing significantly to the study of Jewish history and culture in Europe.
