Karen Dissing Melega was a Danish journalist and author born on March 12, 1937, in Bedsted. She worked as a freelance correspondent in Italy for Dagbladet Information and Danmarks Radio. Upon her return to Denmark, she was employed at TV Avisen from 1977 to 1979. In 1977, she received the Gyldendals book grant. Karen Dissing passed away on July 21, 1988, and is buried at Assistens Cemetery in Copenhagen.
