Karen Lafferty (born February 29, 1948) is an American Christian musician from Alamogordo, New Mexico. She graduated from Eastern New Mexico University and initially tried to join Campus Crusade for Christ. After moving to Southern California, she performed with Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa and toured in the Netherlands. Lafferty released her first album, 'Maranatha!', in 1975, followed by 'Sweet Communion'. In response to the popularity of American music in Europe, she founded Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in 1981, aimed at training young Christian musicians for evangelistic tours.
