Kari Torkkel is a Finnish ice hockey player born on April 12, 1947, in Turku. He played as a forward in the Finnish SM-sarja and later in the league from 1965 to 1977. Torkkel spent most of his career with Turun Toverit, where he won two SM bronze medals. He was known for having one of the hardest wrist shots in his city and arguably the country, marked by a distinctive sharp sound when executed. He represented the national team in 15 games.
