Kei Shimizu (April 12, 1954 - August 18, 2009) was a Japanese manga artist and illustrator from Tokyo, known for her expertise in science fiction and historical fantasy. A graduate of Nihon University College of Art, she began her career in the 1980s, contributing to children's manga and television illustrations. She made her magazine debut with 'Elixir 305' in 1982. Her noted works include the space opera 'Aoki Uchu Yori Kimi e' and the life work 'Jiku-kan Shinwa.' She passed away after battling cancer for a year in 2009.
