Keiko Tsushima was a Japanese actress, born Naoko Mori on February 7, 1926, in Izuhara, Nagasaki. She was discovered while teaching dance at Shōchiku Ofuna studio and made her film debut in 1947. Tsushima gained fame for her role in Akira Kurosawa's 'Seven Samurai' (1954) and later portrayed predominantly mother and grandmother roles on Japanese television. She passed away from stomach cancer on August 1, 2012, in Tokyo.
