Keisō Takamasu was a Japanese painter, born on January 11, 1901, known for documenting the aftermath of the Hiroshima atomic bombing through his artwork. After losing his family home in the Kanto earthquake and eventually becoming deaf at age three, he became dedicated to painting. He was active in Hiroshima post-bombing, creating some of the earliest sketches of the devastation. Over his life, he participated in various art exhibitions and donated works to museums before passing away on September 18, 1985.
