Keith Davy Froome (1921-1995) was an English physicist known for his work in measuring the speed of light. In the late 1940s and 1950s, he employed microwaves to determine light speed with remarkable precision. Froome produced an electromagnetic wave at 72 GHz and used an interferometer to derive a wavelength of approximately 0.4 cm, leading to his measurement of the speed of light at 299,792.5 ± 0.3 km/s, published in 1958. He received several accolades, including the Wolfe Award (1961) and the Moseley Prize (1963).
