Robert Kenneth Callow (1901-1983) was a British biochemist known for his research on steroids and vitamin D synthesis. He worked at the National Institute for Medical Research, where he identified the second known pheromone, 9-ODA, as the queen bee pheromone. After retiring in 1966, he continued his research on insect pheromones until 1971. Callow was recognized as a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1958 and held various editorial and leadership roles in scientific publications and associations.
