He founded and directed the San Joaquin Psychotherapy Center and the non-profit Recovery for Emotionally Abused Children (R.E.A.Ch.). An Irish-American and devout Catholic, he held degrees from prestigious universities and served in various leadership roles in psychological associations. As a Jungian therapist, he created the integrative milieu model of psychotherapy. He passed away from a heart attack, after which a memorial research grant was established in his memory.
