Khalil Taqi al-Din (March 3, 1906 - July 9, 1987) was a Lebanese diplomat, journalist, and short story writer. Born in Baaklein, he studied Arabic and mathematics in his village school before gaining a baccalaureate from a French school in Beirut. He later graduated in law from the Jesuit University in Beirut. He served as a secretary in the Senate and then in the Chamber of Deputies, eventually becoming the Director General. Al-Din was appointed ambassador to Moscow and worked across Latin America. He returned to Lebanon in retirement and was involved in cultural journalism.
