Notably, he created detailed portraits and nudes, as well as floral still lifes. His acclaimed works include 'Shokō', which earned him the Prime Minister's Award in 1976. He was recognized with various honors including the Order of Culture. A memorial museum dedicated to his legacy exists in his hometown.
