Konstantin Hakobyan was an Armenian Soviet cattle breeder and selector, born on March 14, 1901, in Vardashen, Russian Empire. He served as the deputy director of the Orenburg Meat and Dairy Cattle Breeding Research Institute from 1937 to 1958 and became head of the cattle breeding department at the Orenburg Agricultural Institute in 1958. Hakobyan held a Doctor of Agricultural Sciences degree (1956) and became a professor in 1957. He received the USSR State Prize in 1950 for creating the Kazakh White-headed cattle breed and was awarded various honors including Lenin and Honor badges.
