He graduated from the University of Tokyo with a degree in physics and obtained a doctorate in engineering in 1964. Nawa is known for his work in seismic exploration and has held various academic positions, including professorships at Niigata University and Kansai University. Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards for his research in management science and standardization, and he has published extensively on information systems and intellectual property.
