Kurt Högnäs (1931-2021) was a Finnish-Swedish poet and writer, known for his mastery in prose poetry. He held a Licentiate in Philosophy and worked as a language teacher in Kristiinankaupunki. His debut work, a poetry collection titled 'Början till liv', was published in 1955, followed by numerous other collections. Recognized by Svenska litteratursällskapet i Finland and the Swedish Academy, Högnäs's works reflect themes from nature and the Mediterranean, and he is famed for his translations from Italian. His notable works include 'De bronsblå solarna' (2011) and 'Refug' (2015).
