In 1980, he won the World Championship of the Fegentri federation for amateur riders. At 41, he became a professional horse trainer and was the top Swiss trainer in flat and hurdle races 17 times. He passed away on August 1, 2009, in Steinmaur after a prolonged illness, leaving behind a legacy in horse racing.
