Kwame Anthony Appiah is a British-Ghanaian philosopher, cultural theorist, and novelist born on May 8, 1954. His interests include political and ethical theory, philosophy of language and mind, as well as African intellectual history. Appiah taught philosophy at Lawrence S. Rockefeller University at Princeton before moving to New York University in 2014, where he currently works in the philosophy department and law school.
